WBC Students Win Eastman Chemical Company Student Competition at Virginia Tech

Three present and former WBC students were awarded first, second and third place during a November 5th competion sponsored by Eastman Chemical Company. Carter Fox, a former WBC scholarship recipient, finished in first place, WBC Fellow Richard Johnson was awarded second place, and WBC Fellow Sudip Chowdhury tied for third place. Students presented 15 minute seminars on their research work and entertained questions from a panel of judges. The competition was open to graduate students in the Wood Science and Forest Products, and MACRO programs at Virginia Tech.

WBC Fellows Win International Poster Competition

Two WBC Graduate Fellows, Josh Hosen and Jesse Paris, were recently awarded first and second place, respectively, in the student poster competition at the 2009 International Wood Adhesives Conference. Both of the Virginia Tech M.S. candidates will receive cash awards. Congratulations, Josh and Jesse!
